What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Librarian Prin. position at Adtran?
The Engineering Librarian will be responsible for building all the electrical schematic symbols and printed circuit board footprints for Computer Aided Design systems. The Engineering Librarian also supplies technical support for all of engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain component libraries for printed circuit boards in Mentor Graphics Library Manager.
- Build all new parts for CAD systems.
- Create schematic symbols, PCB footprints and part descriptions based on component data sheets.
- ECO’s all released schematics.
- Interface with Design Engineering, Document Control, and Manufacturing Process Engineers
- Supplies technical support for engineering.
- Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the company.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent for two-year college or technical school.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- 12 – 15 years of related experience as a PCB Librarian using both Cadence and Mentor tool sets.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience creating schematic symbols and PCB footprints with Mentor librarian.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret component sheet information for the process of creating parts in library.
- Ability to run Mentor DX designer software for handling ECO changes or schematic.
- Cadence and Mentor tool sets.
- Experience with allegro, Microsoft SQL, server, and BaaN.

- Mentor VX.
