Specialist Process Assurance

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Process Assurance within the Operational Excellence (OpEx) Team, this role will be responsible for executing the internal D&T audit program across all 20 ADUSA facilities and measuring/scoring all ADUSA Distribution facilities in all areas of compliance across food safety, sanitation, inventory control, safety, and other areas as directed. This role will require an individual who can navigate and communicate effectively, collaborates on cross-functional initiatives to identify gaps, propose solutions, and mitigate risks across all D&T processes and functions. This individual is a subject matter expert and will advise colleagues and company-wide collaborators on compliance topics.
 

Priciple Duties and Responsibilities:

Audit Execution

• Conduct risk assessments to identify significant areas of risk.
• Review audit workpapers, evaluate sufficiency and appropriateness of audit evidence, and collaborate on the issuance of audit reports.
• Provide guidance on complex audit issues and ensure audit findings are communicated accurately and effectively and that corrective actions are laid out clearly and closed out timely.

Stakeholder Management

• Work with site leadership team to communicate findings and educate team on how to mitigate risk and get back into compliance.
• Provide training to onsite team as needed/requested to help close out corrective actions timely
• Partner with Process Governance team to escalate chronic issues or process shortcomings that are appearing in multiple sites to the Process Governance Team for a review of internal process. 
• Partner with cross-functional teams to author/edit process documentation as needed/requested

Compliance and Quality Assurance

• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes that may impact the internal audit program.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal audit standards, including those issued by professional bodies and government regulators

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven experience (typically 3 years) in internal audit, risk management, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of internal control concepts, risk management principles, and audit methodologies
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
• Strong knowledge of WMS, Inventory Control, and Food Distribution Warehousing Principles
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
• Self-starter with solid interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to excel in a team environment
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and reprioritize based on emerging risk
• Ability and willingness to travel 40% of the time
• Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
• Ability to work in a –20 degree to 90 degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time
• Work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of experience and or specialized certification
• 3-5 years of distribution, compliance, inventory control, or equivelent relevant experience  
• Previous warehouse supervisor/management experience preferred
• 3-5 years experience in Food Safety, sanitation, and auditing ???????
