Position Summary 

Responsible for daily execution of outbound retail routing across both Hannaford and FDLN banners. Work collectively with all Hannaford and FDLN distribution/transportation campuses to ensure that outbound retail deliveries are efficient and cost effective. 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Responsible for managing the daily Work Flow process as it relates to the Warehouse Management Systems, Outbound routing package and Ordering Entry Systems as well as acts as a liaison to the IT Department.  Coordinates the workflow requirements with business partners.   

  • Ensures total customer service satisfaction with Retail, Merchandising, Trucking, Vendors and Partner Providers 

  • Communicates with Demand management team as necessary to resolve any retail ordering issues 

  • Will assist in training new associates in WMS, ITM and Order Entry activities and systems hardware troubleshooting 

  • Responsible for evaluating and recommending modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work flow or team 

  • Be able to handle day to day problems associated with the flow of orders, system issues, emergency situations with a DC facility or stores 

  • Act as the technical resource within their area of responsibility 

  • Contribute to writing Standard Operating Procedure manuals for all  tasks 

  • Expedite testing and training of new WMS, ITM and Order Entry functionality and able to effectively communicate any feedback to the proper departments of any recommended modifications to the WMS, RF network, ITM and Order Entry systems 

  • Analyze and recommend opportunities for better optimization of retail outbound deliveries, analyzing current work flow process, and necessary adjustments to any timing of order processing that impacts the distribution selection of product 

  • Ability to produce KPI reporting as needed 

  • Act as a liaison to exchange information as needed with customers and associates in retail, merchandising, trucking, and distribution to ensure understanding of varied situations, document problem resolution, and continuity of relationships 

  • Expedite any emergency retail orders to the DC for selection. Initiate Rush orders to support request from merchandising for critical add product item immediate shipment 

  • Participate in disaster recovery efforts for order processing and retail outbound routing in order to support our distribution, transportation and retail partners.  

  • Has clear knowledge of departmental policies, principles and concepts in a specific field 

  • Coordinate special retail requests with DC/dispatch/CAO teams 

  • Act as the liaison between distribution, merchandising, retail and trucking to solve problem concerning order processing, delivery schedule maintenance issues 

  • Responsible for evaluation of workflow and operational initiatives, able to make recommendations to ensure optimum outcomes in a proactive manner 

  • Research system issues and feedback from any retail or DC location as it refers to our performance. 

  • Ensure, triage and balance operational needs across multiple DCs, Retail, Transportation, Merchandising and Vendors/ Partner 

  • Provide as well as cultivate and maintain professional work relationships within these work groups 

  • Provide timely and accurate communication to the Manager of COP and a variety of work groups 

  • Provide support for motivating peers and function as an effective promoter of change and growth. 

  • Provide support for the implementation of a continuous improvement culture 

  • Serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed 


Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of the trucking industry, distribution, and/or replenishment functions 

  • Basic professional level of knowledge for company, business and industry practices 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Programs 

  • Requires travel – typically 8 - 12%

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. 

 

Experience 

  • Experience with the following computer programs:  SEGA, DSS, LlamaSoft, WMS, PFT, Inforem, Tableau, Revionics, MSP 

  • Collaboration experience with vendors, transportation providers, & third party consultants
