As an Advance Local Weather Intern with MLive, you will be part of a dynamic and inclusive newsroom team focused on local journalism for one of the country’s largest privately owned media companies. The weather internship will start in January 2024 and last four to six months. This 40-hour a week internship is paid. Daily collaboration with an editor and other weather team members is required. Daily forecasting research and writing will be required.
Interns are provided a laptop computer and an iPhone for work use. Interns are responsible for pitching weather stories, finding NOAA and NWS images that can be used along with their stories, creating posts and occasional video work.
Applicants must be a student in a current university-based meteorology program, have past forecasting experience, and be working toward a degree in that field.
