Laboratory Technician

Advance Testing Company, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician to work on projects in the Northeastern United States.

Advance Testing, an established New York-based construction materials testing and inspection firm, has opportunities available for individuals to perform testing and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt and fireproofing. Laboratory Technicians perform standardized tests on these construction materials prior to, during, and subsequent to the construction phase to verify the materials on the project are in compliance. The majority of this work is performed in the laboratory but may also be performed on projects, production facilities, or suppliers’ locations.

Successful candidates will be trained and certified to perform sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt and fireproofing materials in a laboratory setting through locally and nationally recognized programs. Once trained and certified, employees are considered full-fledged Laboratory Technicians.

Laboratory Technician – RESPONSIBLITIES

· Perform laboratory tests efficiently and accurately.

· Receive and log samples, provide clients with a professional experience during interactions.

· Enter laboratory data into the data management system and prepare professional test reports for review by the Lab Manager.

· Keep workspace neat and clean while performing testing and upon completion of workday.

· Other related duties may be assigned.

Laboratory Technician - QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· AS Degree in Geology, Engineering Science, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or similar, OR completed coursework toward a BS Degree in Geology, Engineering Science, Civil Engineering or similar.

· Experience with construction materials testing and/or construction industry is helpful, however any required training will be provided.

· Strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocols.

· Must be detail oriented and able to work independently.

· Travel may be required based upon specific assignments.

· Requires a valid, clean driver’s license.

· Applicants may be required to obtain any security clearances and background confirmation for sensitive projects and locations.

All positions may require lifting and/or physical activities, including lifting of up to 75 lbs., walking/working on uneven surfaces, and the possibility of driving to and from project sites. The majority of the Laboratory Technician’s work is conducted indoors, however may encompass all weather conditions as our services continue year-round. Work hours vary, but include day, night and/or weekend shifts.
