- PhD in a biologic scientific field
- Solid scientific analysis and interpretation skills for decision-making and problem solving
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written and listening
- Interest in learning
- Project management & multi-tasking skills and proficiency in databases utilization, data entry, and MS Office tools
- Ability to search and retrieve information from databases, Internet and other external sources
- Ability to work effectively in teams and individually
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Applying scientific knowledge to assess and categorize incoming product and technology opportunities from outside institutions and triaging them to the appropriate person for further review
- Coordinating receipt, acknowledgement, and triage of opportunities received from external institutions
- Communicating with external institutions, entering and tracking status of each opportunity in the database
- Ensuring appropriate and timely follow-up with outside institutions in coordination with team members, including both requesting additional information and providing feedback from our internal evaluation
- Analyzing and summarizing data from external sources as required to help make data-based decisions as well as coordinating input and feedback from Amgen staff, including Research, Development, Commercial, Legal, etc
- Coordinating triage meetings: schedule, prepare agenda, facilitate meeting, generate minutes, handle required follow up and ensure each new opportunity transitions properly
- Partnering with business development staff to enhance business processes and identify areas for process improvement and standardization
- Supporting database enhancements and additional department projects as needed
- Acting as a point of contact for staff requiring training or trouble shooting with our business development database
