Section 1
Summary/Objective
The TSDF EHS Specialist combines rigorous scientific knowledge, familiarity with regulatory requirements, and technical expertise to conduct thorough assessments to identify and minimize risks that would result in legal action or fines, potential injuries, and ensure compliance with current laws and to preserve health and safety. This position conducts both facility and desk-based research and prepares detailed professional reports on their findings and/or recommendations to the TSDF Director.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Reports to the TSDF Director
Full-time, Exempt, 40 hours/week minimum.
Section 2
Primary Responsibilities (In Alphabetical Order)
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Act as an internal ACT resource, as needed
- Complete assignments completely, and on time, every time.
- Conduct inspections and audits of the TSDF to identify safety, health or environmental issues and recommend appropriate corrective or preventive actions.
- Develop and provide employee training for a variety of health and safety and environmental subjects and topics.
- Ownership of assigned tasks and deadlines by TSDF Director
- Prepare permits or regulatory documents and assist with regulatory agency inspections.
- Proactive in identifying gaps and finding opportunities for improvement.
- Self-leadership; completing assignments in an efficient manner, organizing and prioritizing schedule.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands
Office and warehouse environment. In-person as well as remote, online meetings, communication via email and phone. Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time. Frequently walking in a warehouse environment.
Section 3
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
A minimum degree of bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. Equivalent education/experience may be considered
Preferred Education and Experience
Relevant certifications such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification
Experience in the EH&S at TSDFs
Subject Matter Expert in one or more EHS disciplines
