Telerad Imaging Support Specialist Job Summary
The primary role of the Imaging Support Specialist is to provide timely and accurate teleradiology support for Advanced Medical Imaging’s customers and Radiologists. This includes radiology image management, facilitating communication between the customer and Radiologist, and ensuring Radiology report distribution.
Imaging Support Specialist Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs Radiology image management including sending images via a variety of different methods, merging images, and working with the customer regarding image quality issues.
- Ensures images and reports are made available to the Radiologists, referring providers, or other appropriate requestors in a timely manner. Images or reports designated by the requestor as “STAT” or immediately needed for patient care will be sent as soon as possible. This responsibility includes the escalation of issues impacting report or image transmission to the appropriate person(s).
- Ensures that the appropriate images and reports are associated with the correct patient in the PACS and RIS systems.
- Ensures Radiology report distribution. This includes monitoring the outbound fax system; faxing or emailing “STAT” requests for report; responding to customer questions regarding the status of reports; and escalating requests by customers for “STAT” reports to the Radiologist.
- Provides customer training either in-person or virtually on the MedQ and GE ZFP PACS viewer applications.
- Engages in customer rounding either in-person or virtually to assess customer satisfaction and proactively address issues.
- Assists other members of the IT team on various IT projects and initiatives.
- Provides professional and effective IT support services to end users via telephone, email, and thru the use of remote access tools on a variety of technical issues and problems. In-person support is provided to on-site end users.
- Efficiently categorizes, prioritizes, diagnoses, and resolves routine and non-routine incidents and service requests received via ticketing system within established SLAs.
- Appreciates the nature of critical incidents and immediately escalates major incidents to both internal and external teams.
- Takes end-to-end ownership of incidents and requests (even after referral), ensuring accurate and timely updates are maintained in the ticketing system.
- Maintains IT service ticket related documentation ensuring that all information pertaining to an incident or service request is documented.
- Creates and maintains strong business relationships by ensuring users are kept informed of progress throughout the resolution process.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality of patient health information and sensitive organizational information.
- Manages and maintains user access security credentials according to company policies and procedures and HIPAA/HITECH compliance requirements.
- Assists in day-to-day operations of image and order workflow.
- Provides rotating afterhours on-call support as required.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Imaging Support Specialist Education and Experience
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Radiology, Computer Science or IT related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare-related environment preferred
Imaging Support Specialist Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Basic understanding of Radiology workflow and terminology

- Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
