Job Duties

• Process requests for bills reductions received from the representing attorneys via phone, email, fax, and MSHC web portal
• Upon receipt of the request generate settlement sheet utilizing specialized application
• Obtain all necessary case information to justify the need for a reduction
• Forward the completed settlement sheets in batches to the Upper Management for approval
• Notate the approved reduction agreements in the billing software and scan into the document storage system
• Communicate with the BSO billers and payment posters to resolve any billing and payment issues identified while processing the reduction requests
• Follow up on unpaid agreements utilizing Artiva application according to the set policies
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent

Working knowledge of insurance billing and collection procedures, as well as third party settlements and litigation rules

Additional Skills/Competencies

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of computer applications, including Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
• Problem solving and organizational skills
• Typing – 50 WPM
• Knowledge of insurance plans, workers’ compensation, and personal injury
• Ability to effectively interact with doctors, attorneys, patients, and co-workers

Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
