Advanced Medical Transport of Eastern Illinois (AMT East) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT East is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.
Our Paramedic team members are responsible for caring for patients in emergency response situations, during interfacility transports, and during standby events. Paramedics at AMT work 12 or 24 hour shifts in the Champaign-Urbana area. Part-time staff is expected to work at least 24 hours each month to remain in good standing.
Qualifications
Job Duties:

Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
-
Provide advanced life support when needed
-
Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
-
Document patient information, condition, and treatment
-
Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
-
Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
-
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment in accordance with company vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements.

Operate and drive an ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws

Maintain current certification(s) according to provisions set forth by the governing licensure

Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times

Present and promote a positive company image
Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
-
Current Paramedic license in Illinois
-
Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
-
Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license
-
ACLS, BTLS, and PALS certification or ability to obtain; instruction provided by AMT if not currently certified

Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds (subject to physical exam)

Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures

Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment
