Director of Strategic Silicon IP Solutions
The Role:
As Director of Strategic Silicon Solutions Advanced IP team, you'll lead our global team who develops complex subsystems that fulfil unique customer requests. Your team engages early in the business development cycle, transitions to execution of soft IP subsystem design and verification, and follows through with support to customers, SOC teams, emulation, and post-silicon validation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead an IP team to develop customized subsystems as required to meet unique customer needs. Specialty work may include incorporating customer IP, hardware accelerators, embedded processors, NOC, or other industry standard IP to create mission-critical subsystems
- Consultant to business development process during early customer engagement
- Interface with customers throughout the program lifecycle, from early planning through execution
- Inspire innovation, embrace continuous improvement, and support career development for a global team comprised of pre-silicon architecture, design and verification staff
- Provide strategic planning and execution leadership to meet the program objectives, e.g., program scoping, resourcing for full time and contract staff, prioritization, partner team interlock
- Collaborate with downstream teams -- SOC design, DFT, verification, physical design, emulation, and post-silicon teams -- to ensure smooth execution in each swim lane
- Continue to grow the team and build future leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven engineering leader with a passion for solving unique challenges with 1st past silicon success
- Demonstrated success in technical management of teams developing complex high speed, low power subsystems
- Adept in customer communication and successful in developing customer trust
- Experience building a global team with both full time and contract staff and committed to career development for its members
- Broad knowledge of the full IP/SOC process lifecycle, and working knowledge of pre-silicon soft IP development methodologies with cutting edge tools and technologies
- Development background with subsystems containing embedded processors, NOC, 3rd party IP
- Collaborative mindset; agile and decisive
- 15 years of pre-silicon soft IP subsystem development experience
Academic Credentials: Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
