Canvassers Needed

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Petition Signature Collectors. As a Signature Collector, you will play a crucial role in promoting democracy by supporting ballot initiatives and petitions that aim to create positive change.

Job Responsibilities:

Engage with the public, explaining the purpose and significance of the ballot initiatives or petitions.

Collect signatures from eligible voters who support the cause.

Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations governing the signature collection process.

Maintain accurate and organized records of collected signatures.

Collaborate with a dynamic team to achieve daily and weekly signature collection goals.

Report progress, challenges, and successes regularly to the campaign manager or supervisor.

A petition circulator asks voters to sign a petition to place a ballot initiative, referendum, recall, or candidate on the ballot. The petition circulator will connect directly with a broad base of voters.

Training is provided. No Experience, No Problem We pair you up with an expert petitioner who loves this work, so you can "witness" the petitions being signed. We provide you with onsite training and supplies.

Job requirements:

Must be comfortable living and working on the road.

You must be comfortable sharing a hotel room with a roommate.

Must be comfortable working with the public and initiating conversations with voters.

Comfortable working outside on your feet for a full day. We start our day early and end it when the sun goes down in various weather conditions.

Reliable cell phone with service.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a diverse range of people.

Confidence and ability to approach individuals and effectively explain the purpose of the petition.

Strong persuasion and negotiation abilities to convince potential signatories of the cause's importance.

Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team player.

Basic knowledge of local laws and regulations related to ballot initiatives and petitions is a plus.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in community organizing, grassroots campaigns, or signature collection is advantageous.

Familiarity with the specific ballot initiatives or petitions being promoted.

Experience using technology for data collection or management is a plus.
