Responsibilities:

*Work with the physician, patient, and the authorizations department to obtain insurance pre-certification for surgeries and procedures.

*Schedule procedures at the appropriate facility, coordinating with medical reps for any special equipment needed.

*Communicate with the patient, physician, and medical staff regarding surgery.

*Coordinate necessary pre-op appointments and imaging with outside facilities.

*Follow process and verify accuracy of own work.

Skills: *At least 1 year of healthcare experience required *Experience with surgery/procedure scheduling a plus *Ability to work as part of a team as well as a high performing individual contributor *Strong computer skills; and proficient with Allscripts is a plus *Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills required *Medical insurance knowledge a plus *Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
