Seeking Material & Test Lab Technician for Marysville OHIO area for a long term contract (3-5 years)
Automotive Material Test Technician / Parts Assembler/ Materials Testing in a LAB environment:
- Materials Lab Tech is responsible for testing of materials and components that automoive client uses in their vehicles.
- Someone who has worked in a lab before.
- Has used measuring tools like calipers
- Prepare and test vehicle assemblies, parts and materials
- Test and analyze parts by performing on-vehicle and bench testing for the automotive industry.
- Basic logic and report making is required. We don’t need just a mechanic unless they have the Potential/Desire to learn more refined lab work.
Summary:
Conduct standard and specialized tests with automotive parts and full vehicle assemblies.
Develop an understanding of the company trained procedures and techniques on car and plaque durability and performance testing.
Responsibilities include:
- Study and learn company required test standards specific to electrical and durability function in order to ensure correct application of test methodology.
- Prepare test set up to ensure accurate results
- Manage personal schedules, testing, & test equipment related to specific part responsibilities.
- Preparetest material samples, parts and vehicle assemblies for assigned parts.
- Compile & report test data to test requester
- Maintain and service test equipment
- Assemble parts on vehicle for testing purpose and evaluation
- Building test bucks to support test confirmation
- Driving test
- General shop maintenance, tool inventory and clean up.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organization & communication skills required
- Ability to control own as well as others schedule & stay on task when working unsupervised
- Follow detailed written and verbal instructions & complete task with limited supervision
- Ability to balance multiple projects of equal priority within the same timeline
- Complete task on schedule or reports delays & recovery plan to Supervisor
- Good judgement both technically & professionally
- MUST be proficient in PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software)
- Able to travel and work overtime may be required.
