Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Description

US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes.

Shift: 1st shift, 6:30am to 3:00pm. Occasional overtime and 2nd shift support could be required.

Travel Requirements: No.

Clearance Required: No – Clearance not required to start.

Relocation: No relocation assistance available.

Specific Duties:

• Maintain quality standards by monitoring room temperature and humidity to required specifications, monitor out-time and expiration dates on composite material.
• Responsible for ensuring all processes, requirements, and specs are met during the production and following the production of composite components and assemblies.
• Ensure a clean working area, free of FOD.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, certification processes or measuring instruments required.
• Responsible for documenting inspection reports.
• Visual and reference-only dye penetrant testing.
• Interface with Fabrication, Programming, Engineering, and the customer as needed.
• Knowledge or familiar with wet layups, prepreg layups, carbon fiber, fiberglass, adhesives, resins.

Physical Abilities:

• Required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles.
• Occasionally work around loud noises.
• Must be able to hear and detect the differences between sounds that vary in pitch.
• Required to communicate with others.
• Required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
• Required to sit, bend, stoop, and kneel.
• Must be able to wear a half-mask respirator.

Education and Qualifications:

Any combination of education, apprenticeship, college, and experience that demonstrate skills in performing physical and visual inspections of composite manufactured components. Courses in blueprint reading and trigonometry or equivalent practical experience. Experience working with carbon fiber, fiberglass, as well as prepreg material.
