What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Advanced Urology Centers of NY?
Job Purpose: Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
Duties:
- Confirm Appointments
- Rearrange appointments when necessary
- Answer Internal Messages
- Answer patient messages from Doctors in a timely manner
- Verify Radiology and Labs are in the patients' chart before a visit
- Send refill and/or medication orders to the provider
- Verify Insurance Information
- Input New Patient Information
- Reschedule/Schedule appointments
- Transfer phone calls to appropriate Physician/Medical provider
- Relay accurate clinical messages to Physicians and/or Medical Providers
- Review procedure preparation with patients
- Send Patients for Radiology & Labs
- Write Prescriptions for Radiology and Labs & send to appropriate facility
- Fax/Send Medical Records when applicable
- Send Authorization Request for Radiology Exams
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
