Description
The Medical Records Tech is someone who understands the importance of privacy and adheres to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). This team player has full knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, has no problem managing their position to ensure records are scanned and are signed by medical professional.
Duties:
Processing electronic fax and scanning documents.
Handle incoming mail requests from billing, if needed.
Distributing to necessary departments for completion, uploading records to charts and sending for signatures, when applicable.
Processing medical record requests – incoming and outgoing.
Scan all paper records that are received.
Process all tasks from physicians needing additional documentation, if applicable
Participates in educational activities.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
Act as team player: collaborate, communicate clearly, and cooperate with AUI (Advanced Urology Institute) team members with focus on mission and goals of AUI.
Enhances communications by consistently displaying excellent customer service skills in behavior and attitude.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
High School degree or GED (General Education Diploma) required.
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of medical office experience preferred.
