Responsible for sand blasting, prepping, priming, and painting heavy equipment frames and component parts. Must have ability to manage workload efficiently to ensure production has painted frames and parts without work delays. Responsible for ensuring all paint work is smooth and uniform with no runs, bubbles, or imperfections. Works safely, in a team environment, to complete work and area 5S.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply coatings such as paint, primer, and rhino lining through an automated spray system. Prepare surface before painting to ensure adhesion.
* Correct imperfections in metal to ensure uniform painted surface.
* Carefully clean product to remove dust and dirt.
* Masking of product with tape and paper.
* Fill the machine's tanks with a mixture of paints or chemicals, adding prescribed amounts of chemicals and solvents.
* Adjust nozzles on the spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray.
* Hold or position the guns to direct the spray onto the article.
* Check the flow and viscosity of the paint or solution.
* Quality check of product for runs, bubbles, or imperfections.
* Operate automated painting systems.
* Position automatic spray guns, set nozzles, and synchronize action of guns with speed of conveyor carrying articles.
* Observe and adjust gauges.
* Ability to apply touch-ups and repairs.
* Complete production stage 6 in timely manner to ready machine for shipment. This includes painting, touchup, cleaning and final quality inspection of finished mach
