Job Description
Position Title: Warehouse Specialist
Work Location: Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina
Summary: Advantage SCI has an opportunity foraWarehouse Specialist to provide services to our government customer. The successful candidate assists with effective daily operations in a government warehouse facility. Duties include supporting shipping, receiving, and maintaining inventory.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Be proficient in operating systems with knowledge of documentation required for accountability of all material/equipment within warehouse operations assigned
- Verify materials against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
- Store, stack and palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearrange and take inventory of stored materials.
- Examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage.
- Remove material from storage and prepare for shipment.
- May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehouse duties.
- Process lateral transfers to other units or installations.
- Conduct inventory and record quantities of materials
- Maintain security and safety awareness during all parts of operation to include operating equipment and storage of equipment
- Prepare Hand-Receipts, lateral transfers, and conduct location surveys.
- Perform other qualified duties as required.
Experience and Skills
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in direct relevant work listed in duties or as a warehouse specialist. Military warehouse experience a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Possess a current, valid state driver’s license
- Must successfully complete a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance (if required by the assignment)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Able to speak, read, write and understand English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Forklift Operator’s license may be required
- Must be able to provide copy of COVID vaccination or have a reasonable accommodation or approved medical exception
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Outlook, and MS Word to transcribe information into a clear and understandable format.
- Must be organized, dependable and flexible.
- Must comply with company and customer security, safety and other plant/facility/installation regulations while performing services on customer premises.
- Ability to problem solve and apply attention to detail to ensure consistently accurate records
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Works in a warehouse environment with non-controlled temperature & lighting conditions.
- Must be able to walk & stand on level and/or inclined surfaces.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee & reach above/below shoulders.
- May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- May be exposed to airborne particles.
- May be exposed to warehouse hazards; working near moving forklifts, airborne particles, falling objects.
Salary : $33,000 - $41,800
