Job Type: Full-time – Non-Exempt

HR Essential Functions:

  • Implements company culture, values, and policies.
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality for all employee records and information including but not limited to wages, benefits, and personnel issues.
  • Ability to build rapport with all employees.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of labor and employment laws.
  • Knowledge of recruiting websites.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for all personnel, including placing job ads, ensuring job descriptions are up to date, pulling resumes and applications of potential candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Schedule and attend job fairs as needed.
  • Prepares and processes all insurance/incident/accident claims and documentation as follows:
    • Orders copies of all necessary police, vehicle accident, and fire incident reports.
    • Maintains all necessary tracking & copies for insurance purposes, i.e. Worker s Compensation
    • Saves files to server related to insurance claims/vehicle accidents/property damage incidents.
  • Direct accident investigation procedures.
  • Report all injuries to the Worker s Compensation Insurance Carrier.
  • Follow up on the progress of all open Worker s Comp cases.
  • Oversees the preparation of all monthly Safety Meeting materials and tests.
  • Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions.
  • Notify leadership of and assist in unsafe activities or operations.
  • Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
  • Assist in advising and leading employees on various safety-related topics.
  • Attend safety meetings and provide any important safety reminders or changes in policies.
    • Oversee tracking log of ASC Safety Meeting staff attendance and hours.
    • Schedule and ensure make-up Safety Meetings are completed by employees.
  • Assists with reporting regulatory bodies on OSHA matters.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of OSHA policies and programs.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Serves as a backup resource for reference checks and verifications of employment status.
  • Serves as a backup resource to resolve benefit-related questions and concerns.
  • May be asked to assist the GM and Office Manager with employee relations counseling.
  • Assist with the accurate maintenance of department records and reports.
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute all necessary project materials.
  • Collaborate on project presentations.
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assists with reviewing, maintaining, and revising the company s handbook as needed.
  • Assists with planning and execution of open enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday celebrations.
  • Maintains tracking spreadsheets and other documents as follows:
    • Applicants List Log
    • COVID-19 Time Off & Vaccination Tracking
    • Worker s Compensation processing and tracking
    • Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Log
    • Vehicle List and Maintenance Log
    • Property Damage Log
    • Worker s Compensation Claim Log
    • Safety Meeting Attendance Log
  • Presents to all new employees the Safety Program portion of his/her new hire orientation.
  • Assist the General Manager with projects and tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Possible overnight travel.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of MS Suite including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong, effective, and clear verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and highly adaptable to change.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must have the ability to exercise effective judgment and sensitivity to changing needs and situations.
  • Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new processes.
  • Must be professional and team-oriented.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of the legal requirements involved in Human Resources and Business Administration.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure.
  • Must have a valid driver s license and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • 2 years experience in Human Resources
