Chemical Design Engineer

• Come join our team! We currently have an exciting Permanent (Direct Hire) opportunity in Westminster, MD for a Chemical Development Engineer with 5 years of experience to design, develop, and qualify batteries according to customer specifications.

• The Development Engineer will collaborate with the engineering team to design, develop, and qualify batteries according to customer specifications and documentation requirements in line with project timing and budgets.
• The design process includes research and development into parts, materials, and assembly techniques.
• The Engineer will work closely with the engineering team and technicians to execute and deliver existing and new products.
• Lead all development phases including design, prototyping, validation, and pilot production.
• Prepare and present internal and customer facing preliminary and critical design reviews.
• Plan, develop, and execute Design of Experiment (DOE) for fabrication and testing of batteries.
• Work closely with engineering team to determine battery design and mechanical characteristics.
• Develop processes/tooling for pilot scale manufacturing.
• Coordinate and execute product development trials.
• Summarize and present respective results, with conclusions, and recommendations.
• Develop assembly and process specifications, along with other engineering documents.
• Perform root cause analysis.

• BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related Science or Engineering discipline, MS or PHD preferred.

• 5 years' experience in R&D, or Product Development.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to contribute to collaborative team environment.
• Self-motivated and hands-on.
• Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.

• Defense or Aerospace industry experience.
• Experience with battery design, energy storage, power sources, or electrochemistry.

• Must be U.S. Citizen - "Must be able to meet ITAR requirements, including US citizenship to be considered for this role."
