Requirements
As a GSR you will:
Provide advanced support to patients and clinical staff
Offer quality customer service etiquette
Must have a passion for people and a desire to grow
Must be accountable and be willing to take constructive criticism
Adaptive with the ability to multitask and prioritize
Ability to move about and willing to work in a hospital environment
Must be communicative and observant
Ensures hospital and community resources are utilized to address patient/family needs
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward patients, visitors, families, and co-workers
Provide emotional and social support to patients and clinical staff
Ensures family visitation in the emergency department by adhering to policy and procedure
Ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment
Document daily log of patient and visitor assistance
Respect patient's confidentiality
Ensures a safe, secure environment for patients and families in the waiting area
Inform supervisor of any patient visitor issues or concerns
Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
Ensures a caring, compassionate environment for patients and families
Assists patients and families by facilitating communications with nursing and medical staff regarding patient/family needs
Facilitates visitation navigation in collaboration with the visitor managers and medical staff
Use appropriate resources and referral services to address patient/family needs
