Salary: $64,000 - $74,000/yr. (plus 4% yearly bonus)

Product Compliance Specialist job details include:
  • Works directly with internal departments and vendors to ensure that products comply with compliance requirements and standards. This includes actively requesting, reviewing, and approving testing documents for products and understand BOM for a wide range of complex items.
  • Responsible for communicating with business partners, coworkers, and vendors in all parts of the world.
  • Coordinates with 3rd party testing, inspection, and audit service providers to: request service quotes, issue purchase orders (POs), submit samples, track progress, review final reports, and review / approve final invoicing.
  • Maintains all product testing files and SOP for product testing.
  • Assists with research, interpretation, and communication of government regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements pertaining to product safety, social compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Stays current on regulatory, industry, and customer requirements and best practices regarding pertinent compliance topics by attending webinar trainings and industry conferences.
  • Responsible for making justifiable determinations for compliance launches and testing that directly impact the compliance budget and potential sales.
  • Correspond with Sales Team regarding the status of product compliance testing or audits.
  • Assists with the education of internal teams, suppliers, and customers about global responsibility, social compliance, and product safety.
  • Assists to identify savings opportunities and to ensure continuous improvement of Compliance Program.
  • Responsible to ensure test reports or marketing material related to compliance is current and communicated in a manner that creates a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure timely payment of industry association dues and membership status.
  • Communicate with customers, providing them with information related to products and the vendors making our products in support of our sales efforts. Including tracking and management of the compliance inbox.
  • Document compliance and product safety related claims review process.
  • Review new product launches and provide guidance for necessary compliance and customs requirements.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • A self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems and follow up with internal customers and vendors.
  • Friendly, tactful, and professional in your communications on the phone, in person and in e-mail and capable of skillfully handling difficult conversations and situations with different cultures.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to critically analyze technical documentation.
  • Inquisitive and willing to continually learn and stay current on relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience or bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to stays current on business practices, industry trends and government regulations and trends in Social Compliance and Safety.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with a dynamic range of people.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and well-reasoned judgment under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptive with a positive attitude.
  • Limited travel may be required from time to time - once every few months or so.
