Advantage Home Health Services is currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Assistant to join our vastly growing Home Health team in the Altoona, PA Area!
Responsibilities:
- To plan, organize, develop and implement systems and procedures which will ensure the efficient operation of the Agency.
- To monitor office processes so that the non-clinical functions of the Agency remain in compliance with current Federal, State, and local regulations, standards, and guidelines, as well as Agency policies and procedures.
- To manage the performance of other clerical positions in the Agency so that efficiency is maximized.
- To demonstrate support for and leadership in achieving the mission of the Agency.
Working Conditions:
- Works in Agency office.
- Inputs computer data and/or types for extended, continuous periods during course of work day.
- Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours.
- Lifts, pushes and/or pulls 15-20 pounds daily.
- Maintains communication with physicians, family members, Agency personnel, and support
- departments to adequately plan for and provide the clients' needs.
- Subject to hostile and emotionally upset clients and family members.
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs.
- Subject to falls, cuts, bruises, aggressive clients, odors, chemicals, etc. throughout the work day.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Works beyond normal work hours as necessary.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Supplemental secretarial, typing, computer courses.
- Two years of related experience in typing and general office procedures.
- Office experience in the health care delivery system (Strongly Preferred)
