Job Description for Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk
Job Title: Service Billing Coordinator
Department: Main Office
Accountability: Report to Office Manager
Job Summary
Invoices and collects revenue by completing receivable accounting transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
- Interacts and communicates with both field techs and customers in a pleasant manor with the end goal of building a long term working relationship with them
- Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information; computing charges and refunds; preparing and mailing invoices; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
- Collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Contributes to team effort by participating in other duties as assigned
Skills and Educational Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Quickbooks accounting software. Some bookkeeping, accounting, or billing experience required. Experience with construction industry bookkeeping preferred but not required. Experience with certified payroll, Davis-Bacon Wage Rate, and AIA billing is a plus.

Overtime required occasionally; travel required rarely.
