Schedule: FT, PT, PRN Shift: Day, Night
The role you’ll contribute (Job Summary):
A front-line leadership position responsible for the day-to-day oversight of specimen management operations and associates on assigned shift. Responsible for collection and processing of blood samples and other specimens as defined by site. Provides a high level of customer service for lab inquiries, test requirements, and other laboratory information. Consistently functions in a self-directed manner and exhibits excellent communication and complex problem-solving skills. Serves as a liaison with other laboratory departments and hospital services.

- Handles inquiries and resolves complaints related to laboratory service and information promptly, effectively, and appropriately.
- Serves as a resource for other associates providing information or resolving complaints.
- Keeps a customer service approach by following through on such inquiries and complaints and refers to other laboratory leader, department, or system leaders as appropriate.
- May serve as a department initial point-of-contact for pathologists and coordination of procedure scheduling.
Communicates effectively to coworkers, providers, and other departments through timely notification of critical and significant results and findings, within shift and shift-to-shift communication, laboratory and hospital huddles, occurrence reports, email, and other manners to ensure continuity of laboratory operations and patient care. - Actively promotes a positive, team-oriented environment that contributes to laboratory, hospital and AdventHealth goals and reflects the mission and values of the system. Shows a service-conscious attitude by keeping respect and service in mind during interactions with others, including coworkers, patients, and other departments and professionals.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Required:
- Phlebotomy certification, such as PBT(ASCP) or equivalent certification required within 6 months of hire.
