The role you’ll contribute:
The Corporate Health Information Management Coding Consultant is responsible for providing coding services to AdventHealth facilities. The HIM Coding Consultant also performs coding compliance reviews, DRG and APC Validation Audits remotely and on-site. Prepares reports outlining audits results, recommendations and provide coding training as appropriate. The HIM Coding Consultant participates on the testing and support of new HIM applications. Perform other consulting projects as requested by the Corporate Coding Manager and HIM Director.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Provides coding services to AdventHealth Facilities.
Performs on-site/remote coding accuracy audits and DRG Compliance Reviews.
Prepares reports outlining coding audit findings. Utilizes spreadsheets, presentations and official guidelines to support the audit findings.
Conducts exit conferences with the facility administrative team, HIM Director, and other interested parties at the end of each visit to address findings, recommendations and suggested follow up.
Ability to consistently code at 95% accuracy and quality while maintaining facility specific production standards.
Routinely reviews official coding resources to stay abreast of current coding changes and developments.
Participates in the implementation, training and testing and maintenance of coding applications.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelors in Health Information Management
2 or more years of inpatient/outpatient coding experience
One of the following certifications; RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS/P
