The role you'll contribute:
The Lead Patient Care Technician is responsible to perform duties as assigned and directed by the licensed nurse in compliance with established process standards, structure standards and protocols of assigned units.
The value you'll bring to the team:
- Responsible for coordination with educator for training/precepting of new Patient Care Techs
- Ensures orientation pathways are completed.
- Reviews shift responsibilities with new staff.
- Mentors and validates best practices for effective hourly visits.
- Serves as a trainer (as appropriate) for new equipment and processes.
- Coordinates unit duties to include but not limited to: sharp containers, pharmaceutical waste containers, blood glucose monitoring machines, isolation carts.
- Participates in annual review of standardized shift responsibilities.
- Performs as a team member in assisting with safe and effective patient care.
Qualifications
Qualifications - External
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- 2 years of healthcare clinical experience
- High School graduate or GED
- BLS required
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
- 3 years' experience as a Patient Care Tech may be substituted for CNA certification but must obtain within required time frame
