**The role you’ll contribute:**
The Patient Account Supervisor is responsible for the daily workflow of the Transplant Billing functions. This position serves as a liaison between the hospital, medical practice, patients, and third-party payers for all financial matters. The position assists the Practice Leader in the daily processing of claims and troubleshooting problems. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectable to all.
**The value you’ll bring to the team:**
Facilitates day-to-day workflow and operations, including recommending procedures for obtaining authorization, forms and letters required for pre-transplant, transplant, and post-transplant phases. Works with the Practice Leader to provide customer service recovery when billing related patient complaints/concerns are reported. Serves as a liaison between Rev Cycle and other AHMG Depts.
Reviews all hospital and professional charges ensuring the appropriate, payer, guarantor and alternate payers are correct ensuring proper and timely claims filing.
Performs crisis intervention when financial issues arise pre- and post- implant/transplant. Participates in patient advocacy, resource brokering, and information and referral services. Serves as general advocate for patients and their families throughout the pre-and post-transplant process.
Participates in authorized alternatives for the program such as Letters of Agreement, Pre-Provision of Services and Foundation Philanthropy; works with Managed Care, Legal Services and The Foundation to ensure proper protocols are followed, if a denial is received. Prepares quotes for international patients and works with all AdventHealth parties to ensure that accounts are billed timely and that payments are dispersed appropriately.
Pro-actively initiates quality improvement ideas/suggestions in an effort to improve the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction), improve the health of the populations served, and reduce the cost of clinic care.
Maintains current knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules or any legislation affecting the transplant patients.
**Qualifications**
**The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:**
**Minimum qualifications** :
High School diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of experience in Consumer Access/Patient Services.
Medical office billing, Registration, Finance, Collections, and Customer Service.
**Preferred qualifications:**
Transplantation.
Three years of experience in Consumer Access/Patient Financial Services.
Knowledge and use of AdventHealth mainframe and other AdventHealth resources.
