What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthopedic Spine Surgeon - Sonora, CA position at Adventist Health System/West?
Adventist Health Sonora is actively seeking a full-time, mission-minded Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. The candidate will work in a hospital owned and operated dedicated spine clinic (Northern California Spine Institute), serving our Central California community in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. The ideal candidate will be experienced, fellowship trained and board certified; however, new fellowship graduates are encouraged to apply.
The incoming physician will join our team of two full-time Spine Surgeons, 3 experienced Physician Assistants and a full-time Physiatrist in an established clinic that adjoins our 72-bed hospital. The hospital has a dedicated spine operating room and OR team. This position is employed through our affiliated medical group. Spine only call coverage is required.
This opening is due to the upcoming planned retirement of one of our spine surgeons. The retiring surgeon is a founding member of the practice which was established in 2002. The incoming surgeon will transition into an established and busy turnkey practice with referrals and patients already in place. The candidate will partner with an experienced Bridwell-Lenke fellow with 25 years of complex spine surgery experience.
Sonora is an idyllic town on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. Fondly known as gold country, Sonora is located within 2.5 hours of Sacramento, the Napa Valley and San Francisco. It is also a gateway to Yosemite National Park. Abundant local recreational activities include snow skiing at two local ski resorts, world class fishing and water sports on the Motherload lakes, golf, as well as numerous hiking and mountain biking trails.
Candidates must be: BC/BE, California licensed or eligible and meet the hospitals medical staff credentialing standards.
This position has a year one salary range of $675,000 - $850,000 and then transitions to a RVU production-based model in following years.
Additional financial incentives outside of salary/RVU:
Starting bonus: up to $50,000
Annual metric bonus: up to $40,000
Student loan assistance: up to $100,000
Relocation assistance: up to $15,000
Annual CME allowance: up to $5,000
