Job Summary :

Coordinates and performs billing and clerical tasks in support of general and specific office activities for Hospice department and staff.

Verifies accuracy of billing, patient records and compliance with rules and procedures. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget / impact.

Job Requirements :

Education and Work Experience :

• High School Education / GED or equivalent : Preferred
• Five years' technical experience : Preferred
• Clerical experience : Preferred

Essential Functions :

Identifies and resolves discrepancies in records by contacting appropriate office to obtain information on source of discrepancy.

Follows through on changing any errors in documentation. Confirms both EMR correctness and claims correctness for GIP payments.

• Compiles and generates monthly reports, as well as ad hoc reports as requested. Oversees meeting coordination which includes gathering information, meeting scheduling and meeting minutes.
• Manages projects of contracts including templates, coordinating renewals / terminations, and communicating needs. Coordinates efficient contract template fill-ins with SNF.
• Maintains and processes various payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and general accounting information. Reviews and reconciles transactions and initiates accounting documents in accordance with standard procedure.

Obtains signatures for medical director payments to ensure all are processed timely. Communicates with multiple sources for room and board payments.

• Serves as a back-up for bereavement and volunteers and as a subject-matter expert in the backoffice hospice workflow.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
