Job Summary:
Oversees psychological services to patients receiving mental health services. Leads psychologist team in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional and mental disorders within the scope of licensure. Oversees the assessment process and provides consultation to staff regarding psychotherapeutic interventions as appropriate. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Ph.D. or Psy.D: Required
- Five years' technical experience: Preferred
- Two years' leadership experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Clinical Psychologist licensure in state of practice: Preferred
Facility Specific License/Certifications:
- Psychologist (PSYCH): Required
Essential Functions:
- Oversees the psychological screening, assessment and/or evaluations on all patients referred for examination and/or mental health treatment. Oversees treatment plans for all patients requiring specialized therapy.
- Coordinates with consulting psychiatrist to ensure patients requiring evaluation for medication, or re-evaluation of current medications, are seen by the psychiatrist/physician in a timely manner. Ensures the psychiatrist is aware of any information pertinent to the patient's clinical condition.
- Interprets a patient's self report of behavior and/or appropriate psychological tests. Delivers supportive services, consultation and educational programs for the department.
- Communicates clinical findings in writing, as well as through Mental Health consultation with organizational staff. Provides documentation in accordance with unit policies and procedures.
- Leads interdisciplinary treatment team meetings. Utilizes electronic medical record system (EMR) as applicable throughout the scope of duties and responsibilities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
