Manager, FP&A

Summary:
As an FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for providing analytic and financial modeling expertise along with strategic advice and counsel to finance and business leaders in support of crucial enterprise initiatives for Advisor Group. The FP&A Manager role is part of Advisor Group's Financial Planning and Analysis group within Corporate Finance. This role will be focused on forecasting and budgeting assets and revenue and providing business support to the Products and Platform group, Investment Banking and Insurance businesses. Additional responsibilities include long term strategic forecasts, development of competitor analyses and external reporting to our investor community. You will work on a wide range of highly visible projects, partner and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders and executives, and manage junior/senior analysts. This role will report into the VP of Financial Planning and Analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate annual budgeting and long-range planning process and timelines, helping to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and operational initiatives
- Determine the best approach by analyzing and synthesizing data and partnering with leaders to solve complex problems
- Assess business, financial, and economic performance through advanced analytics, detailed understanding of business operations and revenue
- Assist with board reporting packages and reporting on key financial metrics to the Company's significant shareholders
- Collaborate with leaders on regular financial monitoring, evaluation of new initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement
- Assist in the development of recurring management reporting, external earnings reporting and executive presentations informing internal and external stakeholders of the company's performance
- Partner and foster strong working relationships with Accounting to deliver accurate financial results
- All other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related area of study is required
- Master's degree in Finance or CFA preferred
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in finance, FP&A, or business analysis role
- 3-5 years of experience managing and developing individuals with a strong ability to delegate
- Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills required with the ability to direct and train direct reports and other finance team members on financial modeling
- Extensive knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance, and accounting principles required
- Expert proficiency in the use of business applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly motivated with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
- Ability to identify and problem-solve issues with key leaders within the company
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with acute attention to detail
- Team player with a customer service mentality
- Demonstrated experience presenting recommendations and information to executives and senior leaders to influence outcomes
- Experience with financial reporting and general ledger application tools (Workday Financials and Office Connect) a plus
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior financial services industry experience preferred (wealth management, investment management, broker-dealer, insurance, banking, specialty finance)
