Patient Revenue Cycle Liaison

The Patient Liaison will assist patients and their caretakers with any non-medical question or concern.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as primary contact for patient billing issues;
  • Works as a liaison with the Patient, the Call Center, and the Care Centers to ensure resolution in billing issues and patient account discrepancies;
  • Thoroughly analyze individual claim inquires (Authorization/Mismatch Denials; COB; Credentialing, etc.) to assist patients in resolving their concerns;
  • Update patients’ insurance in eCW as identified. Verify insurance benefits and request the eCW RCM Team to submit to the payer(s).
  • Follow up with insurance carriers to research patient billing concerns in a prompt and professional manner;
  • Follow up with patients on their billing concerns in a prompt and professional manner;
  • Respond appropriately and thoroughly to inquiries regarding patient account status;
  • Maintain and analyze reports to identify recurring trends;
  • Help to identify missed appropriate billing opportunities.
  • Participate in the evolution and refinement of quality improvement processes.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental regulations and industry requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is primarily remote but will require the employee to be in the Marlton Home Office on occasion.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Working knowledge of medical insurance/medical terminology; insurance cards and major medical benefits; insurance rules and contracts.
  • Basic business skills with a moderate level of proficiency, including a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two years of experience as a medical biller.
