A woman with a disability is seeking a Mentor (DSP) who will bring creativity and compassion into her daily activities. She is looking to work with a Mentor who can provide 1:1 support to achieve her goals to be independent, pursue her hobbies, volunteer in her community, and work on her communication skills. She is looking for someone who is creative, motivating, and can help her to expand her life experiences. The ideal candidate is reliable, positive, and comfortable working with people with special needs. Please respond to this ad with a resume and/or letter describing your capabilities.
Candidate must be organized and able to electronically log each shift’s time, mileage, and document the services they provided each day. Internet access and a valid email address are required.
Hours and days of work:
Daytime hours: Monday through Friday (9 AM - 3 PM & 3 PM - 7 PM)
This is a part time position, but there may be additional opportunities available for more hours with other individuals within the agency.
Pay rate: $18.50 per hour
Location: Brewerton, NY

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a valid email address
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Background checks required
- Must demonstrate sound decision-making skills and good interpersonal skills, demonstrate understanding for the Agency mission and, demonstrate patience and compassion. People working in this position must believe in the philosophy of person-centered services, self-advocacy, and the right and ability of people we serve to self-direct their supports and services. The individual in this position must be able to tolerate a moderate noise level in the work environment, handle distractions, and while performing this job may be required to sit, stand, use hands, reach, talk, hear, walk, or lift up to 50 pounds.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
