What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shared Living Caregiver position at Advocates?
Caring Partners. Creative Solutions. Better Lives.
Advocates Shared Living matches individuals with disabilities to members of the community who provide care at home, much like a family member. Individuals gain greater independence and opportunities for an active lifestyle in the community, yet have the support and companionship of someone who cares for them at home. Our team works closely with individuals and their families to arrange living situations that truly feel like home – we’re guided by their wishes, interests, and needs, and they are empowered to make decisions about where they want to live and with whom.
Caregivers in Shared Living are dedicated to supporting individuals in a variety of ways: they create a safe home environment, they encourage individuals to participate in the community and form relationships, they support their goals and dreams, and they assist with medical appointments, clinical needs, personal care, daily routines, and activities.
