**Job Description**
The Smart Utility and AMI Director will lead the development and implementation of AECOM’s Water growth strategy in the areas of smart utility and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) primarily in the US. This Leadership role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity for a seller-doer to focus on marketing and developing the AMI water business with a passion for capture management for water clients.
Key activities include leading and developing a team of AMI delivery experts, building alliances with partners and peers, amplifying the company’s brand in the marketplace, participating in strategic sales, and recruiting market-best talent.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Serves as the leader of AECOM’s AMI and Smart Utility water business development (BD) activities in the US, in coordination with the region executives, regional business line leaders, other market sector leads, and state leads.
Serve as a Technical Advisor/Program Manager for key complex, high profile water AMI projects.
Oversee and guide the implementation of complex water AMI projects and programs.
Implement Water Smart Utilities utilizing existing or during AMI implementation.
Markets AECOM as the leading provider of water, wastewater, and stormwater AMI and smart utility services to existing and potential clients
Offers extensive knowledge of the business and product offerings to support cross-discipline/business line/region collaboration.
Develops marketing strategies/plans and anticipates opportunities and trends in the business line, market sector, and adjacent market sectors.
Works with other business line and market sector leaders at the local, region, or geography level to ensure strategic business growth.
Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders linked to the water AMI market sector.
Serves as an ambassador for AECOM in the water business line and market sector.
Leads major pursuits and develops capture plans that conform to the business development strategy and technical capabilities.
Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner.
Reinforces collaboration and team building, ensures client focus, demonstrates commitment to excellence and innovation, and motivates others to ensure positive morale and engagement.
Provides input on BD expenditures and priorities based on market trends
Occasionally manages task orders and provides technical support on projects.
Continuously builds a strong professional network through personal contacts, conference planning and strategy development, committee participation, etc., including supporting client delivery as a technical advisor where appropriate.
**Qualifications**
Minimum qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or similar
12 years of experience in the digital water sector and AMI programs development and implementation, including 4 years of teams leadership
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the AMI and digital water markets across the US.
Preferred qualifications:
15 years of experience in digital solutions and AMI, 4 years in project/program leadership and development.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $225,000.00 - $285,000.00.
