Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking talented Transportation Design Engineers to join a dynamic and highly technical team of planners, engineers, and technicians in the Nashville area office. As a transportation design engineer, you will lead traffic engineering and roadway design projects for a variety of clients in public and private industries. You will also have the opportunity to be part of cutting-edge design projects that utilize the latest technologies for improving all modes of transportation.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight/support
Plan and manage tasks and team members
Coordinate with other disciplines
Interact and coordinate regularly with clients and sub-consultants in the various assignments
Designing roadway geometrics
Intersection design
Traffic studies / reports
Conceptual development
Maintenance of Traffic plans
Right-of-way and Construction plans
Drainage design
Erosion and sedimentation control
Other related design tasks
Client relationships and business development
Successful candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a strong desire to learn.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS Civil Engineer with 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience and/or education
Due to the nature of this job a US Citizenship is required
Valid driver's license and ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle records .review
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer License
Experience with MicroStation/GeoPak and/or OpenRoads or similar design applications
Project Management experience – personnel, budget, and client management
8 years of transportation industry experience
Experience with with TDOT, TN municipalities, or other state DOTs

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Franklin, TN locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $149,000.
