Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Analyst (2 yrs Exp.) to join our team in San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing geographic data, creating maps, and providing spatial solutions to support various projects and initiatives within the organization. The GIS Analyst will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct spatial analysis, and produce high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Utilize GIS software and tools to analyze geographic data and create maps for various projects
Interpret and integrate data from multiple sources, including satellite imagery, aerial photographs, GPS data, and demographic information
Perform spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within the data
Develop and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements and provide GIS support throughout the project lifecycle
Generate reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations
Stay current with advancements in GIS technology and recommend innovative solutions to improve workflows and processes
Provide training and support to staff members on GIS software and tools.
Assist with data collection and fieldwork as needed
Adhere to project timelines and deliverables, ensuring high-quality and timely completion of tasks
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field
Proficiency in GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of spatial analysis techniques, including buffering, overlay analysis, and spatial statistics
Experience working with geospatial databases and data management best practices
Familiarity with GPS technology and data collection methods
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
Experience with remote sensing techniques and image analysis
Programming skills in Python, R, or other scripting languages
Knowledge of web mapping technologies such as ArcGIS Online or Leaflet
Certification in GIS or related field (e.g., Esri Technical Certification)

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000/yr.
