Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated mid-level Bridge Engineer for employment in the Indianapolis, IN office.
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
- Performing bridge inspections.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- BA/BS 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree
- Successful passing of the FE exam
- 2 years of bridge design and plan development experience
- Project experience in Indiana related to state and/or local bridge design project work
- PE license in state of IN or ability to obtain within 1 year, from appointment date.
- Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, and MDX
- Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing
- Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software)
- Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes
- Experience in bridge inspections.
- SPRAT level 1 certification.
- CPR certification.
- National Highway Institute – Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges
