Job Description
AECOM has an opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our growing Energy Business Line. For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices in multiple locations across the United States.
Our team provides a wide range of electrical engineering services across markets sectors including industrial facilities (mining, water treatment, Oil and Gas, Power Generation) transmission (substations, OH/UG transmission systems, generator interconnections, interconnection strategy), power distribution (OH/UG power systems, substations, EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), renewables (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), and next-generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc.). We are looking for a strong leader with a power engineering background to promote our skills to new clients and maintain our existing client base. Qualified candidates will have a strong electrical power engineering background and leadership experience.
The successful candidate is expected to be a detail-orientated, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently. Along with your technical excellence, you will also be expected to provide leadership for the other electrical engineers in our Energy group. The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of electrical distribution systems within facilities. It is a plus to have design experience within solar or other renewable energy facilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Approves and signs off on work.
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
Participates in development of technical proposals.
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
Responsible for the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects
Working with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities
Performing Electrical engineering activities and deliverables for the following:
Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)
One line and three-line diagrams
Protective relay and metering one line / three-line diagrams
AC/DC schematics
Panel Layouts
Equipment layouts and sectional views
Connection Diagrams
Motor Schematics
Bill of Materials
Cable Schedules
DC power distribution design
Hazardous area classification codes and standards
Developing construction and equipment specifications
Supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning
Grounding Analysis and Design
Verifying engineering work performed by peers
Attending client meetings

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS (Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering preferred) plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Preferred Qualifications:
10 Years of experience as an Electrical Engineer associated with the design of electrical distribution systems within facilities.
Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, PIP etc.).
Strong written and verbal skills with an ability to lead engineering tasks
Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.
Plant Startup and Commissioning Field Experience
Power systems analysis software experience (SKM, EasyPower, Etap).
Solar or wind facilities

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $153,525.49 - $284,022.16 annually exempt.
