Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Stormwater Engineer with a P.E. for our Raleigh, NC Office. The ideal candidate will have experience with municipal, state, and federal facility stormwater programs, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permits, stormwater design and monitoring, TMDL planning, water quality and watershed modeling projects. In this role, the successful candidate will provide senior technical oversight for a variety of water resources and stormwater engineering projects related to federal, state, and municipal clients. A significant amount of experience leading and managing projects of highly technical nature will be essential to serve effectively in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and review of project deliverables.
- Certifying plans as a P.E.
- Maintain existing client relationships and contracts by successful project delivery.
- Attend client meetings and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with AECOM project team members (and subcontractors when used); Provide technical leadership in the areas of stormwater design, field work, stormwater analysis, stormwater monitoring, water quality and watershed modeling.
- Technical oversight and reviews of stormwater design and construction documents, inspection checklists, reports, assessments, public education/outreach materials, etc.
- Some local travel will be required and occasional travel outside of local area may be required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS with 8 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Professional Engineer’s license.
- Valid driver’s license and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15 Years of experience MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field MS/PhD in Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Other relevant certifications (e.g., CFM, LEED AP, ENV SP).
- Significant experience working in the capacity of a project manager.
- Experience and confidence to work independently to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget.
- Ability to interact appropriately with regulatory personnel and clients for routine tasks.
- Experience with business development and client relationship management.
- NPDES/TMDL/Water Quality experience.
- Watershed modeling, planning, and management experience.
- Experience developing strategies and planning documents related to stormwater management.
- Experience developing design/construction plans and specifications.
- Experience with hydraulic analysis, drainage and grading design, specification writing, prepare design documents and report preparation.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Experience managing office operations
Qualifications
