Job Description
AECOM Tishman is seeking a Senior MEP Estimator to add to our team of professionals in our Boston, MA office.
Job Description:
- The Senior MEP Estimator is responsible for the overall development of MEP estimates working in collaboration with building estimator under the direction of the region’s Preconstruction Executive.
- Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all stages of design including Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
- Reviews design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, generates acceptable value engineering ideas.
- Review subcontractor and supplier proposals for conformity to scope of work requirements.
- Able to prepare estimate in Uniformat and CSI Standard formats. Participate in the preparation of bidder’s Scopes of Work, Bid Tabulations and GMP proposals.
- Be familiar with current labor and material pricing, maintain a historic database by project and system type.
- Establish good working relationships with trade subcontractors
Familiar with estimating all elements of the MEP trades including:
- Plumbing
- Fire Protection
- HVAC
- Electrical
- Tel/Data and Low Voltage systems
- Site utilities and distribution.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BS Civil Engineering/Construction Management or related curriculum and 10 years of progressive experience estimating construction projects for a large vertical GC or contractor or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred requirements:
- 10 years demonstrated experience in construction estimating
- Experience in estimating MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
- Experience estimating FP (Fire Protection).
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing and to work with multi stakeholders
- Familiarity / Proficiency with the following software or internet-based programs: Blue Beam, OST, MS Excel, MS Word
- Ability to read and take-off – Fire protection systems, Plumbing systems, HVAC systems, Electrical systems, Tel-Communication systems, BMS, Security and Fire Alarm systems.
