Job Description
Perform preliminary and final analysis and design of structures using software: STAAD.Pro. Prepare detailed structural drawings for construction purposes using AutoCad/Microstation. Prepare scoping reports for INDOT bridge and culvert projects to outlay extent of work to be performed. Prepare detailed quantity/cost estimations. Prepare design submission files for all stages of projects as per the INDOT requirements. Conduct independent review of plans, design calculations and quantity/cost estimations prepared by other engineers. Provide guidance to entry level engineers and CAD technicians. Conduct field checks in coordination with INDOT personnel. Coordinate and collaborate with senior designers and other disciplines to facilitate design reviews. Lead structural repair design of small structures projects. Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Conduct preliminary site surveys and constructability studies to for structures. Prepare preliminary design documents and bidding proposals.
Qualifications
Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Civil Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in a related occupation performing preliminary and final analysis and design of structures using software: STAAD.Pro; preparing detailed structural drawings for construction purposes using AutoCad/Microstation; conducting preliminary site surveys and constructability studies to for structures; and preparing preliminary design documents and bidding proposals.
