Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Transportation Engineer to be based in Omaha, NE.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized technical rail input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Serve as technical advisor for team as rail technical resource: assess compliance to client specifications, advise on permitting for construction, and recommend alternatives when projects move into construction.
  • Develop rail study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of rail project deliverables, including survey, Geotech, and structures.
  • Develop rail construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for rail projects.
  • Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of rail PS&E package.
  • Prepare rail technical specification sections.
  • May telecommute.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field, followed by 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered, or in a civil engineering-related occupation.

Position requires:
1. MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D;
2. Microsoft Office Suite;
3. Working as a team member or independently on major rail projects;
4. Working on multiple engineering projects simultaneously;
5. Work with freight or transit rail clients; and
6. Rail design or construction.

Additional Information

Offered rate of compensation (Nebraska locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $109,453 - $149,399.34 per year. per year.
