AECOM is seeking a Transportation Planner to be based in Millsboro, Delaware.
Positions is expected to begin in September 2023.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations. assists with transportation plans/studies with spatial analysis and generation of informative maps for reports and presentations using GIS software.
- Support the development of transportation and transit plans/studies with statistical analysis on a variety of topics such as Census information, land use, roadway and transit networks, accident records, travel behavior, transportation demand, and asset inventories.
- Present and create reports on data interpretations and findings using software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Work with the planning team to conduct equitable public outreach through interactive Story Maps, customizable HTML widgets, public meeting materials, and presentations.
- Study current and emerging technologies and trends in transit and multi modal transportation.
- Research current transportation-related topics at Local, State, and Federal levels.
- Conduct concept-level evaluations of transit/transportation improvement projects.
- Prepare drafts of technical memos, reports, meeting minutes, and presentations.
- Supports research and technical analyses on land use and multi-model planning
- Supports agency stakeholder and public engagement efforts
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment
- Prepare and give effective presentations
- Assists with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban/City and Regional Planning, Urban Studies, Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, Transportation, Engineering or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
- Competence in Geographic Information Systems software (GIS), including ArcGIS Pro · Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Creative Suite and Indisig
