Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Data Manager to join our team in Houston, TX.
Overview: The Human Health & Performance (HHP) Data Manager I will work closely with NASA's Data Integration Manager to define and enforce data management policy, including data access, data quality, meta-data and security, privacy and consent. The Data Manager I is responsible for end-to-end delivery of data management services for assigned projects/studies, collaborating with data owners, risk custodians, civil servant leadership and other vendors to ensure high quality deliverables are on time and within budget to support data management across HHP. This position also partners with internal and external stakeholders to optimize Data Management technology, processes, and standards.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
- Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company.
- Complete all assigned training.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the medical research and clinical business data requirements.
- Develop, Design and implement enterprise wide data strategies and systems.
- Develop and implement procedures for effective data management.
- Create rules and procedures for data sharing.
- Overseeing the collection, storage, management, quality and protection of data.
- Implementing data privacy policies and complying with data protection regulations.
- Assist with recognizing and upholding digital security systems to protect sensitive information.
- Maintain adherence to directorate and agency regulations.
- Effectively communicate the status, value, and importance of data collection to executive members and staff.
- Knowledge of relevant applications, big data solutions, and tools.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate information and data systems that could affect analytical results.
- Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements.
- Responsible for managing data; leverages a range of tools to implement effective and secure capture, integration, and sharing of data.
- Organize and implement data governance policies, procedures, structures, roles, and responsibilities
- Provides direct, hands-on guidance and oversight of data capture, maintenance, curation and application to support the company 's business processes.
- Responsible for assessing variables like privacy, security, compliance, ownership, and performance questions tied to cloud storage
- Maintain the protection, privacy and confidentiality of all data and personal information contained in the HHP Environments.
- Provide periodic status report of work activities to HHP Information Technology Group Lead.
- Ensure that deliverables meet all applicable KBR and NASA quality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. Responsibilities occasionally require work on weekends and/or evenings, sometimes with little to no advance notice.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 years of experience in a science, engineering, or allied health field; or equivalent experience. Also should have experience applying industry best practices to data management and data governance principles
- Experience with relational databases and non-relational Databases in cloud and on-premise
- Strong understanding of data warehouse design principles
- Experience with system engineering processes or concepts is desirable.
- Experience working in large, complex technology projects, including strategic and tactical planning and implementation, analysis, design, package selection and deployment
- Proven Data Governance track record with an emphasis on data policies, standards, and processes design, administration and compliance monitoring
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with personnel at all levels, both one on one and in groups.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, and to exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
- Ability to multi-task, and to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.

DESIRED:
- Experience with Data Integration, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence program development and implementation
- Experience in the healthcare and/or medical research industry is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of available data technology architectures and frameworks
- Applicable industry-standard certifications
