Aegis seeks a Senior Managing Director to join the construction Disputes Resolution Team based in Silver Spring, MD. We are seeking applicants that have a specialization in construction claims and dispute resolution. This position is for a professional with extensive knowledge or experience with critical path scheduling analysis, loss of productivity analysis, quantification of damages, and a comprehensive understanding of construction and construction-related documents.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Perform, research, and investigate circumstances and conditions that have led to construction claims
  • Act as lead manager overseeing the scope, direction, planning, analysis, and completion of client engagements. Including the development of work product, draft memos, presentations, and expert reports
  • Organize, direct, and coordinate all planning and execution of all program/technical support activities on assigned projects including leading and developing teams of highly trained consultants
  • Conduct industry standard schedule delay analyses, including, but not limited to Contemporaneous Period Analyses (CPA), and As-Planned vs As-Built (APvAB) Analyses
  • Perform loss of labor productivity analysis
  • Perform extended general conditions analysis and unabsorbed home office overhead calculations
  • Analyze labor, equipment, and material costs (preferred)
  • Calculate escalated material and/or labor costs (preferred)
  • Provide overall project advisory services
  • Engage in business development through management and expansion of established and new client relationships, as well as the creation of leadership papers, journal articles, and presentations
  • Lead and oversee a team of skilled professionals
  • Attend industry events to build a network of potential clients


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications from AACE, or other industry organizations
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction dispute resolution
  • Demonstrated analytical, research, and quantitative skills
  • Expertise in construction industry standards, practices, and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Recent experience testifying in various tribunals (e.g., Depositions, Arbitration, Federal Court, Boards of Contract Appeals, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel for hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Experience managing client relationships and communicating results and work product
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring a team
  • Ability to independently generate clients for self and junior/mid-level staff
