Position Overview : We are currently seeking a meticulous and adaptable individual to join our team as a Checker in the shipping department a manufacturing facility.
This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and quality of outgoing orders, providing a critical final check before products are shipped to our customers.
The Checker will work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask are essential.
Compensation - $22.44 starting. Will go to $23 in October. Full benefits
Key Responsibilities :
- Order Verification : Utilize computer systems to process and verify orders, ensuring accuracy in quantity and product specifications.
- Pallet Inspection : Physically inspect palletized orders to verify that the correct items and quantities are prepared for shipment, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Communication : Collaborate with Order Pickers to address any discrepancies or issues identified during verification, ensuring timely resolution before shipping.
- Labeling and Documentation : Apply shipping labels accurately to orders and maintain detailed documentation of shipment contents and order statuses.
- Forklift Operation : Safely operate a forklift to transport pallets of finished goods to the shipping area or load them onto trucks.
Prior experience with forklift operation is preferred; Rit will provide onsite training and certification.
- Assistance in Shipping / Receiving : Support loading and unloading of trucks as needed, maintaining a flexible approach to assist in various warehouse tasks.
- Attention to Detail : Exercise keen attention to detail throughout all tasks to uphold quality standards and prevent shipping errors.
- Adaptability : Thrive in a fast-paced environment where tasks may vary from paperwork to physical warehouse operations, demonstrating a willingness to contribute to team efforts across different roles.
Requirements :
- Computer Literacy : Comfortable using computer systems for order processing and basic data entry. Training will be provided on Rit's specific systems.
- Organizational Skills : Excellent ability to manage paperwork and documentation accurately.
- Forklift Experience : Preferred experience in forklift operation; willingness to be trained and certified onsite.
- Team Player : Able to collaborate effectively in a small team environment, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Physical Stamina : Capable of lifting and moving heavy pallets and packages as part of daily duties.
