Prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join their team. This pivotal role will oversee daily cash flow management, prepare and present quarterly financial summaries, and collaborate with various departments to perform cost estimating and implement cost-cutting measures for new equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage daily cash flow to ensure optimal liquidity and financial stability.
• Prepare, update, and present quarterly financial summaries and performance metrics to senior management.
• Oversee all aspects of cost accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of manufacturing costs.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Work closely with various departments to estimate costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement process improvements for new equipment and processes.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategy development.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards; support internal and external audit processes.
• Identify and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • In lieu of a degree, 15-20 years of extensive experience in cost accounting and financial management within a manufacturing setting.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.
